Orchid does its best work when it knows what a good answer looks like. These five habits come from watching thousands of prompts in Studio, and they work just as well through the API.
1. Say who the answer is for
“Summarize this for a new hire” and “summarize this for the board” are different questions. Naming the reader changes what Orchid keeps and what it leaves out.
2. Ask for the evidence
Ending a prompt with “cite the passages you relied on” turns a summary into something you can check in seconds.
A note on length
Shorter is usually better. Ask for the five points that matter most, then follow up — Orchid keeps the whole conversation in context.
